Laser lens exchange
Silmalaser is the only company in Estonia that performs laser lens exchange
Laser lens exchange surgery involves naturally replacing the lens of an ageing eye with a new non-ageing artificial lens. With a multifocal lens, you can see both far and near without glasses after the surgery, and the daily need for glasses is eliminated for the rest of your life.
Lens replacement surgeries are performed from the age of 45, and only once in your life. In addition, after the surgery it is not necessary to perform cataract surgery at an older age.

How does laser lens replacement differ from standard lens replacement?
Laser lens replacement
The laser creates a perfectly circular opening in the lens capsule
The laser fragments the old lens into precise pieces within seconds
The laser makes precisely shaped and positioned incisions in the cornea for inserting the new lens into the eye
The fragmented lens is removed by aspiration
The new lens is inserted with an injector
Standard lens replacement
The opening in the lens capsule is formed manually using a capsular needle or capsular forceps
The old lens is broken up with an ultrasound
The incision for inserting the new lens is made with a scalpel or diamond knife
The fragmented lens is removed by aspiration
The new lens is inserted with an injector
What determines whether you can stop wearing glasses?
Are you younger or older than 45?
There are different types of surgeries to get rid of glasses, depending on age. Don't worry, the result is the same for all of them: a life without glasses!
What type of glasses or contact lenses do you currently wear?
Minus or plus? Cylinder or progressive? Glasses or contact lenses? This largely determines the type of surgery.
Do you have any eye diseases?
Certain medical conditions and eye diseases can prevent surgery from being performed. However, this will become clearer during the pre-operative examination.
